1. Who we are

Rippliq ("Rippliq", "we", "us") is operated by Tapmates s.r.o., a company with its registered office in Hradec Králové, Czech Republic. We are the data controller responsible for the personal data processed through rippliq.com. For any privacy-related questions, contact us at hello@rippliq.com.

2. What data we collect

We keep data collection minimal. Depending on how you use Rippliq, we process:

  • RSS feed URLs you submit for auditing, and the public podcast metadata retrieved from those feeds and from platform APIs (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, YouTube).
  • Email address, if you choose to receive audit results, weekly monitoring alerts, or product updates.
  • Audit results and usage history associated with your account or session so you can revisit previous audits.
  • Technical data such as IP address, browser type, device type, referrer, and pages viewed, collected automatically when you visit the site.
  • Communications you send us (e.g., support emails).

We do not knowingly collect special categories of personal data and do not target the service at children under 16.

3. How we use your data

  • To run audits on the podcast feeds you submit and return results to you.
  • To send transactional messages (audit results, monitoring alerts, account emails).
  • To send product updates and marketing emails — only where you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To improve Rippliq, detect abuse, and maintain the security of the service.
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal bases (GDPR)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract (Art. 6(1)(b)) — when you submit a feed and we deliver the requested audit.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — for service security, abuse prevention, and basic analytics.
  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — for non-essential cookies and marketing emails.
  • Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)) — when retention or disclosure is required by law.

5. Third-party processors

We use a small set of service providers that process data on our behalf under written data processing agreements:

  • Cloud hosting and infrastructure (for running the application and database).
  • AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) for generating title rewrites, show notes, and audit explanations. Only the content needed for the specific task is sent.
  • Transactional email provider for delivering audit results and alerts.
  • Product analytics to understand aggregate usage.

Some providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent safeguards.

6. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to run the site and, where you consent, analytics cookies to measure usage. A cookie banner is shown to EU visitors so you can accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time through your browser settings.

7. Data retention

We keep audit data and account records for as long as your account is active, and up to 24 months after you last use the service. Server logs are retained for up to 90 days. Marketing contact data is kept until you unsubscribe. You can request earlier deletion at any time.

8. Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA or UK, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing based on legitimate interests, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@rippliq.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority — in the Czech Republic this is the Office for Personal Data Protection (ÚOOÚ, uoou.cz).

9. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular backups. No service can guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password if you create an account.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date above will always reflect the latest version. Material changes will be announced on the site or by email where appropriate.
